PIANIST JIYEONG MUN Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 4:00 pm TICKETS Pianist Jiyeong Mun won the Geneva International Competition in Switzerland in 2014 and subsequently won the Busoni International Competition in Italy in 2015. Since then, she has gained a reputation as a young musician and pianist who receives the most attention through accompanied performances with Korean and international leading orchestras and through piano recitals on the world stage. SMITHSONIAN JAZZ MASTERWORKS ORCHESTRA Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at 4:00 pm the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra (SJMO) return to Castleton for a performance of music of the legendary “King of Swing” Benny Goodman Sunday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. The concert will begin with a multimedia presentation by Dr. John Hasse which will provide insights into Goodman’s colorful life and career, visiting highlights through photos and video clips.
Dr. Hasse is the founder of the SJMO, and Curator of American Music at the Smithsonian.
