Silver City Bound Wednesday, Oct 5, 2016 TICKETS Accordionist Sam Reider and guitarist Justin Poindexter are representing American roots music in collaborations with artists all around the world, and have performed or recorded with Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Pete Seeger, David Amram, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Dom Flemons, The Branchettes, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Peter Yarrow, Vince Gill, Nellie McKay, and Marcus Printup. Sponsored by Jazz at Lincoln Center, the group has toured worldwide, representing American roots and folk culture to countless audiences. The duo is augmented by Noah Garabedian on bass, Will Clark on drums.

Hill Center Jazz Ensemble Led by Victor Provost Wednesday, Nov 2, 2016 TICKETS Victor Provost is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading voices on the steel pan. Through appearances at concert halls and clubs worldwide, he has developed a soloist's voice and style to be reckoned with. With a strong foundation in Bebop, a contemporary sensibility, and deep roots in Caribbean music, he works in countless genres and musical styles. He collaborates with Wynton Marsalis, Pacquito D'Rivera, Hugh Masakela, Nicholas Payton, Terell Stafford, and Wycliffe Gordon. Victor is on the George Mason University faculty and has taught classes at Berklee College of Music, and Miami University, among others. He is perennially awarded "Jazz Percussionist of the Year" by Washington City Paper.

DAVID TAYLOR, BASS TROMBONE Tuesday, March 7, 2017 TICKETS David Taylor stands out as a composer and inventor of new sounds and techniques for the trombone. Hehas performed with the New York Philharmonic under Pierre Boulez, was a member of the Thad Jones Mel Lewis jazz band, and recorded with Duke Ellington (The New Orleans Suite), The Rolling Stones, and Blood, Sweat, and Tears. He is currently at the Jazz Standard with the Mingus Orchestra aside from appearances with Yo Yo Ma andWynton Marsalis. He has been involved in dozens of commissioning projects for the Bass Trombone in solo and chamber idioms; collaborating with composers including Alan Hovhaness, Charles Wuorinen, George Perle, Frederic Rzewski, Lucia Dlugoszchewski, Eric Ewazen, David Liebman, and Daniel Schnyder.
